GORTEF supplies PTFE forming tube tape and cross seal jaw tape to fit the IOPAK BS-2520, made to the dimensions you measure off your own machine. It is an aftermarket replacement rather than a genuine Process Plant Network Pty Ltd part.
The BS-2520 is IOPAK’s continuous motion vertical bagger, rated 10 to 150 bags a minute on pillow and gusseted packs up to 250mm wide and 400mm long. IOPAK list it as the BS-2520-CP-GB and the brochure carries it as the YS-BS-2520-CP-A, so a plate with either suffix is this machine. Continuous motion means the film is moving against the forming tube and the jaws for as long as the machine is running, which is what sets the tape interval on a BS-2520: bags run, not hours switched on.
Which GORTEF Product Fits the IOPAK BS-2520?
TCG005AD at 48mm wide is the tape already in service on this machine, slit to that width off the 1000mm roll in 30 metre lengths. Where it catches people out is measured thickness: 5 mil is the nominal figure for the backing, and TCG005AD runs 0.115mm across the PTFE coated glass with 0.165mm over the silicone adhesive, so a micrometer on tape you have just stripped off reads nearer 0.165mm than the 0.13mm on the spec sheet. Three thou is the lighter option where a jaw is running thin film and needs the heat through it, but on a continuous motion machine the film never stops moving against the tooling, and the 5 thou backing is what carries that abrasion.

OEM tapes are usually specified in mil. That is the same unit as our thou, so a 10 mil OEM tape is a 10 thou GORTEF tape.
