PTFE & Teflon Sheets
PTFE-coated glass fabric sheets - 1000mm wide, cut to any length from 1 to 30 metres, self-adhesive or non-adhesive
Last updated: June 2026
PTFE (Teflon) sheets are PTFE-coated glass fabric supplied as a full 1000 mm wide sheet, cut to any length from 1 to 30 metres in 1-metre increments. They provide the same non-stick, heat-resistant, chemically inert surface as GORTEF's PTFE tapes, but in a wide-format sheet rather than a narrow roll — ideal for covering press platens, lining work surfaces, and creating release and separator sheets.
GORTEF supplies Teflon sheets in two forms: self-adhesive (AD), with a high-temperature silicone adhesive backing and yellow release liner for permanent application to a surface, and non-adhesive (NA), a loose PTFE/glass sheet for free-laid or mechanically fixed use. Both come in 3, 5, and 10 thou thicknesses and are rated for continuous use from -73°C to +260°C.
Need a narrower width or a long roll instead of a sheet? Sheets are always 1000 mm wide. For custom widths up to 1000 mm in 30-metre rolls, see our PTFE heat seal tape range.

What Are PTFE (Teflon) Sheets?
A PTFE sheet (also called a Teflon sheet) is a woven glass fabric coated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and supplied as a wide, flat sheet. The PTFE coating gives the fabric an exceptionally non-stick, low-friction surface that resists heat to +260°C and is chemically inert to almost all substances. The glass fabric core gives the sheet dimensional stability and tear strength while staying thin and flexible.
Teflon sheets are the same base material as GORTEF's PTFE heat seal tapes — the difference is format. Tapes are slit to a custom width and supplied as 30-metre rolls; sheets are supplied at the full 1000 mm fabric width and cut to the length you need. For background on the material itself, see What Is PTFE?
Self-Adhesive vs Non-Adhesive PTFE Sheets: Which Do You Need?
Both sheet types use the identical PTFE/glass fabric. The only difference is whether the sheet has a silicone adhesive backing. Choose based on how the sheet is fixed in place.
| Feature | Self-Adhesive (AD) | Non-Adhesive (NA) |
|---|---|---|
| Backing | Silicone PSA + yellow release liner | None — bare PTFE/glass fabric |
| How it is fixed | Peel and stick directly to a clean surface | Laid loose, clamped, or mechanically fixed |
| Best for | Permanent release surfaces on platens, jaws, drums | Reusable separator/release sheets, liners, covers |
| Reusable | No — single application | Yes — can be lifted and reused |
| Temperature range | -73°C to +260°C | -73°C to +260°C |
What Sizes Do PTFE Sheets Come In?
All GORTEF Teflon sheets are 1000 mm wide — the full width of the coated fabric. You choose the length: any length from 1 metre up to 30 metres, in 1-metre increments. So whether you need a single 1 m × 1000 mm release sheet or a 30 m run to cut down yourself, we supply it as one continuous piece.
Three thicknesses are available, matching our standard tape range:
- 3 thou — thinnest and most flexible, for maximum heat transfer and close conformity.
- 5 thou — the general-purpose choice, balancing durability and flexibility.
- 10 thou — heaviest duty, for high-wear release and separator surfaces.
If you need the material narrower than 1000 mm, order it as tape instead: our PTFE heat seal tape is slit to any custom width up to 1000 mm and supplied in 30-metre rolls.
What Are PTFE Sheets Used For?
The wide format makes Teflon sheets the right choice wherever you need to cover a large area with a non-stick, heat-resistant surface. Common applications include:
- Covering press and platen surfaces on fusion presses and heat presses
- Release and separator sheets for laminating and fusing
- Lining drying cylinders, chutes, dead plates, and conveyor surfaces
- Non-stick work surfaces and bench liners for sealing and bonding operations
- Oven and baking liners in food production
- Composite layup and release film in moulding and bonding
How to Order PTFE Sheets in Australia
GORTEF manufactures and supplies PTFE sheets to businesses across Australia and New Zealand. To order, tell us the thickness (3, 5, or 10 thou), whether you need self-adhesive (AD) or non-adhesive (NA), and the length you require between 1 and 30 metres. Frequently Asked Questions
A PTFE sheet is a woven glass fabric coated with PTFE (Teflon) and supplied as a wide flat sheet rather than a narrow roll. It has a non-stick, low-friction surface that resists heat to +260°C and is chemically inert. GORTEF supplies sheets at a full 1000mm width, cut to any length from 1 to 30 metres.
Both use the identical PTFE/glass fabric. Self-adhesive (AD) sheets have a high-temperature silicone adhesive backing with a yellow release liner, so they peel and stick permanently to a surface. Non-adhesive (NA) sheets have no backing and are laid loose, clamped, or mechanically fixed, making them reusable as separator and release sheets.
All GORTEF PTFE sheets are 1000mm wide. You choose the length: any length from 1 metre up to 30 metres, in 1-metre increments, supplied as one continuous piece. If you need the material narrower than 1000mm, order it as tape, which is slit to custom widths in 30-metre rolls.
Three thicknesses are available. 3 thou is the thinnest and most flexible for maximum heat transfer; 5 thou is the general-purpose choice balancing durability and flexibility; 10 thou is the heaviest duty for high-wear release and separator surfaces. The thicknesses match GORTEF’s standard tape range.
GORTEF PTFE sheets are rated for continuous use from -73°C to +260°C. On self-adhesive sheets, the silicone adhesive is rated to the same range, so the sheet keeps full adhesion and non-stick performance across all standard heat sealing and pressing temperatures.
Yes. PTFE is approved for food contact and is chemically inert, so PTFE sheets are widely used as release and separator surfaces in food production such as baking and laminating. For lines that use inline metal detection, consider metal detectable tape on the sealing surfaces as well.
